Decatur Celebration

Decatur Celebration organizers announced plans and headliners for the 32nd annual street festival to be held August 4th, 5th and 6th.

Headliners for this year’s event include Hip Hop & Rap artist Nelly, rock artist Bret Michaels, country music legend Travis Tritt, Christian band 7eventh Time Down, popular funk and R&B group Here Come the Mummies, emerging Christian Artist, Stars Go Dim and The Four Seasons Tribute Act The Jersey Tenors.A major change this year is the decision to create a fenced perimeter with designated entry points.  All adults must have a “Band Together” wristband to be admitted. In the past, wristbands were sold on the honor system and only needed at the point of purchase for food or drinks. The wristbands cost $5 for the weekend in advance and $8 for the weekend on site. Children 12 and under are free. Advance sales have started. The carnival will have a fenced perimeter for safety and security, but will not require the “Band Together” wristbands. The massive 3-day event blankets the downtown business district with show stages featuring national and emerging music artists, three blocks of  arts and crafters, the Razzle Dazzle Goodtimes Parade and over 60 food vendors.
